Papayas grow in both India and Puerto Rico — two lands with deep sun, rich soil, and cultures that move through rhythm, flavor, and storytelling. In one, it's chopped green and folded into spice. In the other, it's softened in syrup and served with love. In both, it sits at the center of the table — a gesture of care, culture, and connection.
Papaya Collective was born from that shared center.
A creative collective exploring Latino and Caribbean culture through design design, brand, and commerce — who shapes it, who profits from it, and how we return authorship to the communities who built it. Part research, part critique, part creative diary. Written by a designer who has spent over a decade inside the industry — and is still learning her roots.
